SLFF is a film and interdisciplinary art festival organized by Documentary Open School in Kathmandu. SLFF has its roots as weekly screenings at the Kathmandu film Centre (Docskool) in 2009. SLFF is an open structured event with room for diverse programming. The program is defined most by our interest to see cinema challenge hypocrisy and stalemate narratives.

The festival marks an open practice as we create an accessible archive of films for other festivals to share freely. SLFF – 2023 is seeking Documentaries, short fiction and interdisciplinary film/art projects.

Three festivals will be held in Dhangadhi, Biratnagar and Kathmandu in Nepal. A sideline Queer festival will be held alongside the Kathmandu festival. The festival shares multiple satellite venues with films shown indoor and outdoors.

Submission is currently open.
